MAK Day 2003: Seen and Heard in LA

MAK Day: Seen and Heard in LA, brought together a diverse group of Los Angeles-based arts organizations to present a day of free lectures, events, workshops, and demonstrations. A panel discussion examined how the strategies and tactics unique to alternative arts venues contribute to the current cultural landscape. Programs included Kaos Network, Self Help Graphics, Watts Towers Art Center, The Armory, Plaza de la Raza, Gallery 825/Los Angeles Art Association, L.A. Freewaves, Lubowicki Lanier Architects, Foundation for Art Resources (F.A.R.), Project Blowed, Highways Performance Space, Rosanna Gamson/World Wide, Beyond Baroque, and a panel discussion moderated by artist Erika Suderberg, panelists included L.A. Freewaves Director Anne Bray, Director of Literary Programs at World Stage, Michael Datcher; Cletus Dalglish-Schommer of the Foundation for Art Resources; and Leslie Ito of Visual Communications.
