Thea Djordjadze regularly addresses questions of architecture, design and methods of display through installations that combine everyday objects, unconventional substances, and art and industrial materials. Her exhibition at Sprüth Magers—the artist’s first solo exhibition in Los Angeles—extends the artist’s investigations into the legacies of twentieth-century modernism, and the ways in which context affects the viewing, understanding and experience of art.

Thea Djordjadze is a Berlin-based artist whose work has been presented in solo exhibitions worldwide, including most recently at Portikus, Frankfurt (2018), Pinakothek der Moderne, Staatliche Graphische Sammlung, Munich (2017), Vienna Secession (2016), and MOMA PS1 (2016), as well as the Venice Biennale (2013 and 2015) and Documenta 13 (2012).

Mimi Zeiger is a critic, editor and curator based in Los Angeles. Co-curator of the US Pavilion for the 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale, she has organized numerous exhibitions and writes frequently on art, architecture, urbanism and design for publications such as the New York Times, Domus, Architectural Review, and Architect.
Anthony Carfello
Anthony Carfello is the Deputy Director of the MAK Center for Art and Architecture at the Schindler House in West Hollywood and an instructor with Temple University’s Los Angeles program.
