Rosalind Nashashibi
Rosalind Nashashibi (1973, UK) is a British artist of Palestinian and Irish origins who works primarily in film, while also making paintings and prints. Nashashibi’s solo exhibitions include two tribes, Murray Guy, New York (2016), Electrical Gaza, Imperial War Museum, London (2015), the painter and the delivery man, Objectif Exhibitions, Antwerp (2013), and Carlos Vision, NoMas Foundation, Rome (2011). Her work has been exhibited at documenta 14, Athens and Kassel (2017), LACE (2017), British Council collection at the Model, Sligo, Ireland (2016), Centre Pompidou, Malaga (2015), Kunstverein München (2015), Baltic Triennial, krakow, poland (2015), Leeds Art Gallery (2014), Contemporary Image collective, Cairo (2014), Tate Britain, London (2012), Sharjah Biennial (2011), Sculpture Center, New York (2011), and Museo Tamayo, Mexico City (2010) amongst others. She is a Lecturer at Goldsmiths College and was a nominee for the 2017 Turner Prize.
Mathias Poledna
Mathias Poledna (1965, Austria) studied at the Universität für Angewandte Kunst and the Universität Wien, before moving to Los Angeles, where he now resides. Poledna’s recent solo exhibitions have been organized at Buchholz Gallery, New York; the Renaissance Society and Art Institute of Chicago (2014); Secession, Vienna (2013); and with Florian Pumhösl at Raven Row, London (2011). His work has been exhibited in group exhibitions at Whitney Museum (2016), Kunstverein Hamburg (2016), Mumok, Vienna (2015), Sydney Biennale (2014), Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo, Sevilla (2014), and City Gallery Prague (2013). In 2013, he represented Austria at the 55th Venice Biennale.
This program was a part of Public Fiction’s The Conscientious Objector, a multifaceted endeavor that unfurled in parts from February to April 2018. The Conscientious Objector comprised a publication, a series of artist-made commercials for television (to which Rosalind and Mathias were contributors), an exhibition of artworks activated by a performance, and public programs.
