Stephan Lugbauer
Stephan Lugbauer, born in 1976, now lives and works in Vienna and Lower Austria. He studied architecture at the Technical University of Vienna and received his MFA from the Academy of Fine Arts, New Media Department, Vienna. He was a fellow of the MAK Schindler Residency in Los Angeles, the BMUKK Studio Residency in Mexico City, and the Cité des Arts in Paris.
Together with Barbara Kapusta he was the co-founder of Saprophyt, an independent conceptual art space and project. His work has been featured in several international exhibitions and festivals, including International Film Festival Rotterdam, Hors Pistes at the Centre Georges Pompidou; Les Rencontres Internationales in Paris, Madrid, and Berlin; CAAM in Gran Canaria; Kunsthalle Wien; and Secession, Vienna.
