The MAK Center’s free community day featured complimentary tours of The Gen[H]ome Project, along with two panel discussions and a reception.
The program opened with remarks by Kimberli Meyer and Peter Noever, followed by a keynote address from Martin Bressani. The first panel examined how the rise of information technologies and their integration into nearly every field of research have reshaped perceptions of the architectural object. Participants included Chandler Ahrens, Karl S. Chu, Ulrika Karlsson, and Greg Lynn, and was moderated by Aaron Sprecher. The second panel addressed the political, ideological, and ethical implications of implementing scientific and genetic procedures in architecture. The discussion featured Helene Furjan, Christopher Hight, Sean Lally, and Marcos Novak, and was moderated by Eran Neuman.
