Deborah Ligorio
Deborah Ligorio was born in Brindisi, Italy (1972), and she lives and works in Berlin, Germany. Her practice weaves together critical theory and embodied experience, intersecting contemporary art with theoretical research and digital design.
Her work has been exhibited in international biennials, including Manifesta 7 and the Sharjah Biennale 8, and in solo and group exhibitions at institutions including Urbane Künste Ruhr, SAVVY Contemporary (Berlin), Neue Nationalgalerie (Berlin), ICA (London), Hangar Bicocca (Milan), Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo (Turin), Kunsthaus Graz, and Triennale Milano.
Deborah Ligorio's work has been supported by institutions like the Berlin Senate and the Fondo Speciale, Italre - GAI - Italian Studies for PS1 MoMA. She has participated in prestigious international residencies including the MAK Centre in Los Angeles, Künstlerhäuser Worpswede, Art OMI, and the Antonio Ratti Foundation. Deborah Ligorio was shortlisted for the Premio Furla and received the 15th Quadriennale di Roma young art award.
She is the author of *Survival Kits* (Sternberg Press, 2013) and the founder of SomeSeeds (2025), a project focused on empowering situated knowledge.
