Shima Roshan Zamir
with Morteza Farhadian Dehkordi
Shima Roshanzamir is an architect and urban designer whose work spans both academic and professional spheres. She earned her Ph.D. in architecture in 2015, focusing on "subjective deterritorialization," under the mentorship of Wolf Prix and Sanford Kwinter. She also holds a Master of Urban Design from the Applied Art University of Vienna and a Master of Sustainable Architecture from the Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST).
From 2010 to 2016, Shima worked as a Design Associate at Coop Himmelblaus, where she contributed to various architectural projects and urban design research, including collaborations with the Vienna City Hall. In 2012, she co-founded Ravi Urban Design and Architecture Office alongside Morteza Farhadian Dehkordi, with a vision to explore and implement innovative design solutions for the built environment.
Her research interests focus on open, bottom-up, and informal systems, as well as generative design. Shima is particularly passionate about uncovering hidden patterns within complex urban systems and translating them into generative and agent-based models. Her work in urban mega projects reflects this focus, and she also imparts her expertise through teaching at Isfahan Art University, where she leads studios on contemporary urban design challenges.
