Symmetry

In the world of objects and space, symmetry is a property that derives its meaning from a center, repeating forms on mirroring sides of an axis. Inspired by the pin-wheel floor plan of the Schindler House, this exhibition performs a spin of the idea of balance. Symmetry features works by Los Angeles-based emerging artists that either use symmetry or consciously deviate from it. In both cases, the works challenge the classical association between symmetry, order and beauty.
